About Us

Scott Rousso began working in the stockroom and installation division of Roger Sound Lab (co-owned by father David Rousso) as a college student in the early 1990’s. His field of study was Fine Art yet he was drawn to exciting technological breakthroughs of the time: laserdiscs and vhs were succumbing to the DVD player and the very real possibility of home theater for everyone.

After a few years of local apprenticeship at some of the most prestigious AV firms in the world, he struck out on his own, instantly creating audio and video environments that keep the integrity of home design whilst integrating audio, video, lighting and climate control, and security into an easy and reliable aspect of daily living.

Sound Decision began under the moniker Vox Com, and Scott’s work found its place amongst the most innovative in the country, nationally published under both names and winning the Bronze medal for “Best Media Room” in 2006 from Electronic House Magazine. Our work has ranged from Alanis Morisette (1999) , George Clooney; The chairman of Disney Internationa-Andy Bird; Ignited (marketing for the US Army, Sony, Nike); All of Susan Fenigar’s restaurants ( The Border Grill, Ciudad, and Street including the flagship at the Mandalay Bay Hotel).

A walk through our by appointment showroom will give and idea of what we can create.

Among many lines of product, Sound Decision is a dealer of both Crestron and Control 4 automation products, providing an excellent range of features satisfying any budget. The last three years have seen a dramatic interest in lighting control, with home owners seeking simpler, more elegant solutions to the age old light switch cluttering their walls.

Utilizing control systems from Control 4, Crestron, and RTI, we have been consistently able to integrate system components under one uniform control allowing ease of use and creating confidence in the experience. The design can be basic or elaborate, with Sound Decision working with you through the discovery process. As there is not a “one size fits all” for your unique needs, we have spent the last 17 years cultivating an understanding that system design can mean different things to different people. Our clients know they want simplicity, but do not want to lose out on valuable features that enhance the experience.

Sound Decision’s lead tech, Frank Franco, has worked with Scott for over ten years. All system programming is done” in house” by Scott and not sub-contracted.
Sound Decision holds a C-10 license while most competitors carry only a C-7, better enabling us to handle lighting control systems.
